Much of the housing here dates from the postwar decades, which brings its own character of work. Renovations in these homes often involve opening things up, and that usually means the staircase and railings need rethinking rather than just replacing like for like.
We do a lot of interior railings, staircase rebuilds, and steel and glass partitions in Scarborough homes, along with exterior railings, porch rails and gates.
On older homes, nothing is quite square or level. We measure on site and build to what is actually there.

Working in an older house is a different skill from working in a new one. Walls are not plumb, floors slope, and what is behind the drywall is anyone's guess until it is open.
We build to the measurements we take on site, not to a drawing of how the house should have been built.
That means we would rather come out and measure once things are open than commit to dimensions early and hope. It costs a little more time up front and saves a great deal of trouble later.
We fabricate in our own shop and install ourselves.
